The New Ross & District Pipe Band and some members of the local FCA Pipe Band will make its annual Santa parade across the town on Christmas Eve beginning at 3.00 p.m. As always there will be plenty of variety in Christmas Hats, Christmas jumpers, Elf costumes, and of course Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be on hand to distribute sweets to the children.

The band will make several stops for short concerts of Christmas tunes and they will also play all the Christmas favourites along the route. The parade will begin at the Dunbrody Centre and the route will include the Quays, Charles Street, South Street, Quay Street, Conduit Lane, and then back along South Street to finish outside the Theatre Tavern.

The Christmas Eve parade has been done every year since 1977 and for many people it’s a highlight of Christmas Eve.

For those who can’t get to town on Christmas Eve, here is a video recording of the band playing ‘The Little Drummer Boy’
